THE HEADIES AWARDS LOST IT'S PURPOSES?

When the Headies Awards is mentioned, the 2015 saga between the YBNL boss olamide and the Mavins boss Don Jazzy quickly comes to mind. It's just like yesterday when the words from the two bosses transpired as follows just shortly after Rekado Banks was awarded the Next Rated Artiste over Lil kesh...

Olamide: Lil kesh is our next rated artiste f**k that shii. Baba iya eyan. Every single was a hit back to back from lyrically, to shoki to efejoku baba iya anybody.

Don Jazzy: Brother olamide, if it's the car that you want come and collect it.

Ever since then there has been a rumour of a noticable decline in the traction to this awards by fans and music lovers in the county despite the fact that the two bosses later solved their beefs and trashed the difference between them. It was said that since then the awards had been doing all it's best to get back the spotlight and also go overseas in it's influence.

Some weeks back Headies Awards announced via all Social media platforms that this year's edition would be holding at Atlanta in the USA. This announcement has been welcomed and is still receiving a lot good and bad comments. While so many have said this is an opportunity to take the Award and Nigeria music global, some others have said it's a desperate search for validation by the whites. Today the lists of all nominated artistes across all categories was released on all social media platforms of the Award.
